Who We Are?

SKS Law Associates is a professional organization of lawyers and patent agents providing services in the area of intellectual property law to Indian and foreign clients. We specialize in contentious and non-contentious work relating to patents, trademarks, copyright, industrial designs, geographical indications, and plant variety protection. Additionally, we also provide advice on licensing & technology transfer, protection of trade secrets, and biodiversity-related issues. For a select clientele, we conduct IP Audits and carry out competitive intelligence. We are active in the public sphere, having worked on drafting the legal framework for the regulation of access to traditional knowledge relating to genetic resources and benefit sharing for the Ministry of Environment. Our members have prepared courseware for the Masters' Programme on Intellectual Property Law for the Indira Gandhi National Open University, Delhi, and are active in conducting training for the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion.

SKS Law Associates is committed to making a positive impact on society by providing pro bono legal services to start-ups, SMEs, and individual inventors. We believe in supporting the entrepreneurial spirit and innovation, especially among those who may lack the resources to access high-quality legal assistance. Our pro bono services aim to empower small businesses and innovators, ensuring they have the legal support necessary to protect their intellectual property and navigate complex regulatory landscapes. In addition to our legal services, we are deeply invested in social welfare initiatives, particularly in the field of healthcare. We recognize the importance of access to medical care, especially for those who are economically disadvantaged. To this end, we actively contribute both financially and through other forms of support to individuals in need of medical aid. Our contributions extend to various charitable organizations that align with our mission of service. These include the Sri Sathya Sai Medical Trust, known for its comprehensive healthcare services to the underprivileged, The Ramakrishna Mission, which provides educational and medical services across India, and Sai Netraheen Sewa Sanstha, an organization dedicated to the welfare of the visually impaired. Our commitment to social responsibility is further exemplified by the personal involvement of our founder, Ms. Sreedharan, in numerous philanthropic activities. Her dedication to social causes has been widely recognized, culminating in her receiving the prestigious Sushma Swaraj Award for social achievements on International Women's Day 2023. This award acknowledges her tireless efforts in supporting the less fortunate, advocating for women's rights, and contributing to the betterment of society.
